
In memory of Roberto DiMascio, a devoted World Languages teacher at La Salle Academy in Rhode Island, who tragically passed away. Roberto’s sudden death has left students, colleagues, family, and the wider community grieving a life dedicated to education, mentorship, and cultural enrichment. For 14 years, he brought classrooms to life with his passion, warmth, and unwavering commitment to fostering curiosity and learning.
Roberto’s teaching extended far beyond grammar and vocabulary. He helped students connect with languages and cultures in meaningful ways, encouraging them to explore the world with open minds. As the moderator of La Salle Academy’s Italian Club, he nurtured a love for heritage, friendship, and learning that transcended the classroom. His colleagues and students alike remember him as a playful, wise, and compassionate presence who made every day brighter and every challenge more manageable.
Honored in 2024 with the Donald J. Kavanagh, AFSC Heart and Soul Award, Roberto’s dedication to his students and school community was widely recognized. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a loving husband to Mercedes and devoted father to Dario and Sofia, whose lives he centered with care and joy.
