Joe Coleman, 66, of Pana, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on March 11, 1959, in Pana to the late Morris J. and Wilma Coleman, Joe was a devoted father, grandfather, and pillar of his community. His life reflected generosity, hard work, and a commitment to supporting those around him.
A successful entrepreneur, Joe owned Joe Coleman & Son Environmental Services, Joe Coleman Salvage & Demolition, and Whiskey Bill’s Saloon and Liquor Emporium. He was known for his humility, often contributing to community causes quietly and without recognition. Joe also had a lifelong passion for cars, proudly maintaining his collection at The Corvette Shed and sharing it for community benefits and events.
Joe was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, Eagles, Elks, Moose Lodge, and a 25-year member of the Shriners. Family meant everything to him, and he cherished time with his son Zach, grandchildren Clayton, Elcie, and Wyatt, and a host of other special children and grandchildren he loved deeply.
Joe’s passing leaves a lasting void in Pana and the lives he touched. Remembered as “Papa Joe” by many, his generosity, kindness, and devotion to family and community will continue to inspire all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Corvette Shed on November 14, honoring his remarkable life and legacy.
