Miles Phipps, 15, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on November 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, kindness, and individuality that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Born on October 21, 2010, to Rocky Phipps and Ashley Campbell, Miles approached life with energy, warmth, and a fearless sense of self that made a lasting impression on his family, friends, and community.
Miles attended Johnston Elementary School before continuing his education at Urbandale High School, where he was an active member of the GSA Club. There, he found affirmation, support, and a place to express himself fully, forming meaningful friendships and embracing his identity with courage and authenticity. Music was central to his life, and he poured his heart into composing and performing, using melodies to share emotions that words alone could not capture.
An adventurous and active spirit, Miles loved skateboarding, rollerblading, biking, and completing challenges such as RAGBRAI with the Dream Team. Creativity was woven through all he did, from experimenting in the kitchen to participating in cosplay and comicon, sharing his inventive spirit with those around him. His thoughtfulness and generosity were evident in the small, meaningful gestures he offered friends and family, always seeking to bring joy and connection into their lives.
Miles also cherished animals, especially his beloved cat, Shevee, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship. He is survived by his parents, Rocky and Ashley; sister, Aeva; grandfather, Troy; aunts Niki, Angela, Sarah, and Jesseca; uncles Brandon, Asa, Dave, and Pat; along with extended family, friends, and his Dream Team community. Though his life was tragically short, Miles’ creativity, courage, and bright spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
